Oh dear

Postby Mozzy » Fri Nov 08, 2013 6:49 pm

I've completely cocked up. I deleted SPE before downloading the updated to my Mac and now I have nothing; it refuses to to open. Tried shutting down and rebooting to no avail. Also how can I find my licence key; I copied and pasted and cannot find it.

Grrrr I'm stuck Tony please can you help?

No matter what I do on the Mac I cannot get it to open. Downloaded from fresh, SPE latest for Mac from SPE website, it all seems to install, I try to open SPE through the icon and all I keep getting is the Apple Mac problem report screen. It worked fine until I deleted the programme to download the latest.

Any thoughts … anyone?

I've got it back working by installing the older version through my licence page .. phew. It is just the updated latest version that causes all the prblems, like it won't open and gets the apple problem reports.

Hi Mozzy,

Can you paste that apple problem report here? For me, it works without any problems on my Mac running OS X Mavericks.

Thanks,
Vangelisz

I've installed version one which I found on the site and that is all fine now. The updated version was indeed the one that would not open. Is there a place where recent problem reports are stored?

I'm 10.6.8 Snow Leopard fully updated.

Hi Mozzy,

Sorry, I thought you were using Mavericks. If you have downloaded SPE through the license manager you must be using the latest version. It is possible that something went wrong when you tried to do the update inside SPE. Can you confirm that you are using 1.19.26? Please go to SmarthPhotoEditor->About SmartPhotoEditor to check this. Thank you!

1/19/21 is the version I downloaded via my licensed full version. I've Copied the 'about info too' I fearful of getting rid of this one as I so DO'NT want to be without it ever again.

Hope you can suggest a way forward or if not I'll stay with this version … as long as that is OK?

Mozzy

PS: I know I can update Snow Lep to Mavericks free but my ISP has me on a restrictive plan of 10 gig per month. I saw Mavericks is about six or seven.

Hi,

I would suggest you to stay with this version of SPE and holding off updating to Mavericks.
I've found the path of the problem reports on Mac, they are usually stored under Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports. Can you look for a recent report from Smart Photo Editor, and send it to support1234@anthropics.com?
It may be useful for us to see what happened.

Thanks,

I duplicated SPE and saved it. then used the update panel to get the 64 bit version and voila. Click to open and it goes straight into an error report. Have you got anywhere with this for Apple Mac users yet?

I'll send the latest report.
