Some Flowers from Home

Postby Phelon » Sun Nov 10, 2013 4:27 am

This is an Amaryllis growing inside our home. Today, I decided to take two images and make a composite of them. Sometimes I add a drop shadow, but here I felt I didn't need to. It has a "floating" image inside the mat where the flower is trying to look or reach out of the float onto the mat. I like it better this way than just covered with a frame. Shutterfreaks.com has some very nice PS actions for frames, including "out-of-the-box". This was SPE work in Composite mode.

This is a favorite from the garden, Dutch Irises. There was a bunch of work to get here, including HDR. AndrewB and others have a love for flowers, so I would like to dedicate these two flower pictures to AndrewB, who has been such an inspiration for the art of photography!

Absolutely stunning! The indoor one is breath-taking. Do you have any details on what effects you used?

Thanks everybody for your nice comments!!!! Through the years, flowers have been a good subject--they like to pose, change their colors, perform 24/7, they will work until they die, and emotionally they always leave something behind to remember.
