Windows Photo Viewer thumbnail image not showing right

After I edit a photo and save it (raw image to jpg image) sometimes, not always the image in the folder of the windows photo viewer does not show the "edited" image but when I "open" the image to view it - it's all good. Can you tell me how to fix this "save" problem?
