The effect called 'another set of textures 020' has a sort of linen effect if that's any use.

This is probably a stupid question ... but I am new to this
fabulous software ... is there any way I can go directly to a
specific filter effect? (Rather than going through every
single one ... like I usually do ... )

When you click on 'effects' to bring up all of them then, if you know the name of the effect you want, you can type it into the search bar which appears under your original image on the top right of the page. Pressing the return key should bring up your required effect. Also you can save your favourite effects so you don't have to keep searching for it. You will find all the effects you have used when you click on the Favourites box (2nd box below Effects Gallery) and save your favourites.
