Further Examples of Applied SPE Effects

Postby andrewb2012 » Thu Feb 13, 2014 12:47 pm

Following on from my previous discussion 'Demonstration of SPE Effects', here are further examples of what can be done - same process as described previously. Simply the results this time - once again, this is just a selection from hundreds of results - cannot remember effects & combination of effects used.

I do know that the main effects came from Arwin & Texan's contributions in Example 1

Most likely some of my effects and that of Arwin in Example 2

Pretty sure Example 3 effects came mainly from Arwin's contributions

Yet more examples;

A mix of contributors effects were used in Example 4 - the right hand image was an Arwin effect I think and I think the main effect used in the left hand image was 'Weathered & Grungy' by Superdave.

Probably my own effects used in Example 5 - just can't remember - sorry!

Definitely an Arwin effect used in Example 6 with hue tweaks and further processing

Final example:

Again, Example 7 uses an Arwin effect for the main one - some tweaks were done!

Note: All the original images were Stock Images from www.3d.sk and were used under commercial license.

Combined images & borders were applied in Photoscape.

Shoo shoo Andrew

Really an awesome serie of examples Andrew, you did a terrific job to show the capabilities of SPE!

Great to see how you used the 'Daniel davidson - lost and taken 5-xx' effects on the portaits, this is the way I've meant to create them!
For those who want to use them, you can find them in the category: 'Style > Gothic' and/or 'Style > Horror Film'.

Again, a terrific job you did Andrew!

Thanks, Arwin

Thanks Arwin,

Hope you are well my friend. I gather that you have been busy at work - I've missed your flow of new effects. As you probably noticed I've uploaded tons of new textural effects - I was going to just keep them for myself - but that felt selfish - so I've come out of retirement a bit to contribute a little more.

With arty images, I always have a look at your contributions as I really love a lot of them - I use them often for my own FUN - but rarely do I exhibit the results. You will have noticed that I have sometimes tweaked your effects or combined them with my own, to create new effects, and I know that you have done that with some of mine too - collectively, we can create some very useful effects.

There are many things that have happened in my family life since a month before Christmas that have stopped me being creative - I'm glad that my juices are flowing again, because I love creating new things - I get a real buzz.

Glad you like how I've used some of your effects - your effects are wonderful creative tools and I thought it about time I showed some of their possibilities.

Users often want to know exactly how each image is made - I'm a bit shy of telling exactly how things are done as I feel that people should experiment and find their own style rather than adopt mine.

For the meantime I will continue uploading new things.

I am hoping to create a PDF document that can be downloaded to show some of my favourite effects (including yours) in action.

Kind regards & lots of creative FUN!

Cheers,

Andrew

Thank you Andrew, Im doing fine although it can always be better ;)
My contributions will always be in a flow like a tide, I can't do it otherwise :)
As I type this I did receive a confirmation to use some new high quality textures I found on the internet, together with some new inspiration I've got, this will hopefully result in some fine new effects :D

I'm glad that you, at least give me the feeling, you're doing a bit better than before, good to hear/read! :D

I've seen indeed a lot of new effects from you lately aswel as from Texan, which are great :) And indeed, I do think; to create the best effects is to reuse/tweak/combine, or get inspired by, other effects that are already exist, although I do always try to give my effects a new twist to the effect collection.

Im looking forward to read your PDF document and to see tons of new effects from your hand!

Keep healthy and strong my friend! (and have FUN! :D )

Kind regards,
Arwin

Thanks for your kind comments Arwin - looking forward to seeing your new effects using the new textures.

Had a bad period for a while, but at the end of January I started feeling a bit better. I was not going to upload any more effects, but I find it hard to just keep them for myself as I prefer to share things. I don't know how useful a lot of my stuff is for general photography processing, but for Art Images I think they allow for a great deal of creative use. I've seen some wonderful stuff done with my textures - one notable user is Pierre D - his images are sublime! Anyway, recently I've uploaded a few examples of what can be done with some of my effects to help users get an idea of the possibilities. However, I would also encourage users to delve into other contributors' effects and look for unique combinations of existing effects. Texan, does a great job in this respect and has created some BEAUTIFUL grungy combined effects. In fact I sometimes Texan's effects as a starting point then manually adjust, alter and recreate for specific results. I do love grunge! Likewise, I use, as you know, many of your effects - hopefully to good use.

Have a great weekend my friend,

Cheers,

Andrew
