Thinking of Spring

Postby Phelon » Sun Feb 23, 2014 2:59 am

Hi, Everyone, I'm feeling a little better now and felt like doing some artwork to help bring in the Springtime flowers. Used a Peony photo from last year; separated the flower from the background; cropped, then made a larger background layer to which I added the cropped flower image. Then I added a new image from Auto FX to the new background surrounding the flower. Next, I colored a light colored border (yellow) to keep it simple along with the simple white background around the flower. Lastly, using SPE's area selection tool, I selected the white area around the flower and chose one of the many hundreds of background Effects in the Gallery. That's it.

PS Also used Text Tool on border.

Hello Phelon,

It is nice to see you are back and feeling a bit better - long may it continue that way. Very nice image - like how the pencils point towards the beautiful rose.

Keep up the good work.

Kind regards and better health my friend.

Cheers,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I so much would like to thank you personally for your comments. They are so heartwarming and thoughtful. Yes, may the recovery from spinal stenosis be long-lasting.

Normally I don't show many examples of my creations working with a single picture, but for now, the single image gives me something to think about and to work out new thoughts; thus making it easier to show my thoughts.

SPE's Community Forums are a big help to express everyone's thoughts and getting acquainted; otherwise, I might not have met you.

Thanks again for your kind comments,

Cheers,

Phelon
