GAUSSIAN SMART BLUR

This node allows you to blur the surfaces in your image leaving edges intact. The Radius slider allows you to increase or decrease the amount of blur. The Quality slider lets you enhance the final result. The Threshold slider will increase or decrease the difference between the minimum and maximum values, thus permitting you to adjust the overall effect while refining the edges and the blurred surfaces. Finally, the Method slider lets you choose how to apply the filter. The Color difference method blurs the surfaces and leaves the edges intact. The Contrast method blurs the surfaces ignoring the edges. The Area option restricts the node so that it only operates within an area you have previously created.
