I'd value your OPINION!
Here is a test effect that I am playing with - just want to know if you like this kind of effect and its many possible variants?
Here is the result - this effect is NOT LIVE at the moment.
Cheers,
Andrew

It could be useful, not sure when/where I would use it at this point. Don't think I would use it on an image like the one in your example though.

One thing I've learnt using SPE is that you see some effects and you think WTF! When would I ever consider using that? And one day you have some throwaway photo and your are doodling away through all 3000+ effects wasting hours or time because, frankly, being retired I am bored when, suddenly, you invoke that effect and wow! It has created a work of art. So, I'd never say I wouldn't use it but currently I can't see how. Also, I think it obliterates too much of the original photo.

Hi DBenterprises & Richard,
I agree wholly with what you have said - your comments are helpful. Let me make some points though.
The original image was one that was at hand - it is just a vehicle to create the effect and show the effect.
The effect is a TRIAL effect. I will not be publishing this one.
I'm interested in your opinion of this TYPE of effect - not this particular effect as such.
The result you see is at a very early stage - proving the structure is most important here, but I thought I would seek your opinion prior to developing such effects.
So in respect of your comment Richard. The spaces are too small in this particular trial and the actual image is almost obliterated as you say. I simply missed out the step of modifying the effect so that this was not the case, but it actually takes quite a while to do this - so I floated it as is. But I am well aware of the problem and can assure you that the modification will take place in any final versions. This is merely a PROTOTYPE.
Richard - if you know the series name you can type that in the Effects Gallery search box and that will greatly limit your gallery results - generally my series are numbered something like 001-040. This means that typing in the series name will only show these 40 effects.
DBenterprises I agree that this effect has not been used sympathetically - it certainly is NOT RIGHT for this image - but I'm pleased that you think it COULD be useful and that is encouraging.
I maybe did not make it clear enough - but I did say that this was a TEST IMAGE - might have been better to call it a PROTOTYPE with a generic original by which to test it.
Anyway, it is great to hear from both of you - I value your comment and thank you for taking time to consider the effect.
Cheers,
Andrew

I agree with Richard I never can say I won't use it, that's the surprise while skipping thru the gallery!
Somehow this 'test' image is eye catching, maybe it's the colors that does it
I do think, if the bars do have a rusty texture or something that makes them look 'old', this will work on some landscape images or images with nice old buildings like castles and ruins, what do you think?
Anyway, good to see your creative juices are still flowing!
Cheers,
Arwin
