surrealism in photos

I want to create some composite surreal images and have already used some masks to good effect but now would like to incorporate parts/part of other images into a basic image to create the effect I want.Any direction or help would be appreciated

The compositing tool is what you need. There are some video tutorials for compositing here.

I noted your request regarding effects for making Surrealist Artworks!

Just put another video tutorial up in my blog that you might find of interest, as I believe the techniques shown in it are applicable to creating Surrealist Photo-Art.
