Sensor issues
Hello,
I edited the image below, but had ha hard time to get the sensor working for the composite. For some reasons, it did not detect neither hard or soft lines. I had to use the Airbrush but was kinda painful. Any suggestions? The background of the background of the bg image is gray.

Re: Sensor issues
SPE's select area capability is amazing considering the price of the software, but it won't be the ideal tool for all area selection situations. Sometimes I have to try several different software tools before I manage to hit on one that makes a satisfactory selection for my particular image. Not all tools work the same.
OnOne's Perfect Mask is great for intricate masking and has a chisel tool that lets you chip pixels away if the mask isn't perfect. Since it masks out selected colors (regardless of edges), under the right circumstances (clear color differentiation) it is able to even mask out backgrounds behind veils. In the attached screenshot I tried it out with my daughter's bridal veil. The original image was in a dark room and the background was a uniform brown color (you can see the brown stripe at the top of the screenshot which is part of the original image). I was able to mask out the brown background behind the veil and let a woodland scene peek through. Unfortunately, this won't work with every image because sometimes the colors are just too similar.
There are other dedicated image masking software solutions out there, and if you find that SPE falls short for some images you may have to do some of your masking in another product.
Having said that, I think SPE does a great job on artistic images. It is possible to choose a combination of effects that look even better with a feathered selection. Your image ended up looking very nice

Re: Sensor issues
Thanks for your reply - I think that SPE is a great tool and I thought I didn't do it right. I downloaded the trial version from Topaz, but I prefer SPE (sorry,Topaz).... Every day I work with SPE I learn more on how to combine filters to get great results.
