Only half a meg

Postby Mozzy » Mon Nov 17, 2014 7:46 pm

Taken in the garden on a very overcast & cloudy day; then realised the camera was on 500kb setting after I took it ... durrrr. It is one of the AWAX flying daily from Waddington in Lincolnshire. Mighty mighty powerful aeroplane. REALLY.

Made the best of it here in SPE :)

I think you may be right Andrew :) I forgot to mention I got this one passing overhead with my old little compact.

Hi Mozzy,

Your 'old little compact' - I'm even more impressed - keep up the good work! Actually, I mainly use compact cameras - I use the Canon G15 and my absolute favourite, the Samsung EX1 - both have great 'low light' capabilities with wide open lenses at f1.8. I gave away my two Digital Slr Kits (Pentax) as I could not carry them about owing to my spinal condition - I also have a bridge camera - the Fuji HS50 EXR - 24 mm - 1000 mm (Equiv) zoom lens. Such lenses are OK, but they lack the quality of smaller zooms and prime lenses. I used to have a lot of kit - but there was no point in having it as I could not really use it all. I do have good tripods, but again I cannot carry them about with me. It was OK when I was driving, but now their use is very limited. So I take most of my images 'hand held' with the two compacts - Got to say, I think they are brilliant!

Well Done!

Andrew

Andrew funny you should come back with that info. I've been wondering for a while now if the Canon 6D and many L series lenses is actually worth keeping. I need a new compact and will be investigating what is about.

I've a shutter count of 250 I think on the 6D, and TBH I have not really missed it.

I'm only a very basic hobbiest and when I sold all my model railway kit I treated myself to the DSLR route.

Hmmm you have me further pondering.

Daft thing is his flaps are down ready to swoop around and land nearby. In this image the post processing makes him seem as if he is rising; then his flaps would not be down of course :)
