Layer order

I have seen this request before but is there any update being planned which will enable the reordering of layers while working in composite or montage mode?

I'm afraid, we don't currently have an update planned for that feature.

Basically you can't swap an image once you have done some adjusting. So if you like an overall effect, can you change the original image if you save as an effect? This will save a lot of time ( as at the moment, I save a session and copy the order of effects to achieve the same result with a different image).

Yes, if you hover over the original image tab at the top right of the screen, and right click you can get an option to switch images. Obviously this only makes sense if you don't have selections.
